QUETTA, Oct 22: The Students Action Committee staged a demonstration in front of Quetta Press Club here on Wednesday demanding the arrest of those accused of killing Nasiruddin Ghalizai, a student of the Islamabad University, at the campus on Oct 13.

The students of the Pukthunkhwa Students Organization, both factions of the Baloch Students Organization and the Hazara Students Federation, who have formed the action committee, took out a procession from the Government Science College and marched on various roads of the city carrying placards and chanting slogans.

Addressing the protesters, the leaders accused the Islamabad police and university administration of hesitation in apprehending the accused nominated in the FIR.

They said members of the Pukhtun Council had informed the university administration regarding the altercations between the Punjabi Students Council and Pukhtun Students Council in cafeteria but the lukewarm approach of the administration provided the rival group to kill Nasiruddin Ghilzai.

Representatives of the action committee warned the government that if it failed to arrest the persons nominated in the FIR and did not pay compensation to the deceased’s family it alone would be responsible for the consequences.
