SHIKARPUR: Health care Facilities assured for people

SHIKARPUR, Oct 22: Sindh chief minister’s adviser for health Noman Saigal has said that the government is trying to eradicate irregularities committed in the past at health care institutions to enable the people to avail all possible health facilities.
He was talking to newsmen during his visit to the RBUT district headquarters hospital here on Tuesday.
He said the Sindh government had formulated a new policy and made many health schemes to make the masses have easy access to medical treatment.
He said doctors, specialists, paramedical staff and other employees of the health department would be severely punished and terminated from their services if they were found not doing justice to their duties.
Replying to a question Mr Saigal disclosed that the Sindh government had not lifted the ban on recruitments but in order to overcome unemployment, 486 seats from grade-1 to 9 had been created to absorb jobless youth in the health department - subject to availability of funds.
He also informed that specialist doctors would be posted to various hospitals on a rotational basis, while an undertaking would be taken from doctors passing from medical colleges that they would serve in their respective districts.
Replying to another question, the adviser said that doctors working on a contractual basis would be regularized and posted to various places.
JOURNALISTS: Journalists took out a rally in Khanpur and staged a demonstration on the Shikarpur-Kandhkot road to protest against delay in the arrest of the murderers of journalist Amir Bux Brohi here on Tuesday.
Representatives of the PPP, the JSQM, the JTI, the Young Arain Welfare Association, the Mehran Teachers Association, the Awami Tehrik and some other social welfare associations of Khanpur town participated in the rally. The protesters blocked the Shikarpur-Kandhkot road for an hour.
