KARACHI: Two boys caught in crossfire

KARACHI, Oct 22: Two young boys were injured when caught in a crossfire between police and suspected criminals at Banaras Chowk, in the limits of Pirabad police station.

According to reports, two armed men had snatched a motorcycle (KAX-8846) in Nazimabad and fled towards Banaras Chowk. Police chased them into the Pirabad police limits where an exchange of fire took place between the two sides. Two boys Bilal, 12, and Shafqat Ali, 8, were caught in the crossfire and sustained serious injuries.

While the criminals escaped on foot after abandoning the snatched motorcycle during the clash, enraged onlookers grabbed the policemen and beat them up for causing injuries to the boys. The police shifted the boys to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where condition of both of them was stated to be critical due to profuse bleeding.
