Pakistan contingent leaves

KARACHI, Oct 21: A 40-member Pakistan contingent left on Tuesday for India to take part in the first Afro-Asian Games to be held in Hyderabad, India, from Oct 24.

The contingent comprises 26 sportspersons and 14 officials.

Pakistan is to compete in hockey, boxing and women’s swimming.

Hockey: Salman Akbar, Ghzanfar Ali, Shakeel Abbasi, Tariq Imran, Saleem Kahlid, Akhtar Ali, Tariq Aziz, Ali Raza, Zeeshan Ashraf, Muhammad Nadeem ND, Adnan Maqsood, Rehan Butt, Mudassar Ali Khan, Waseem Ahmad, Muhammad Qasim, Muhammad Saqlain.

Officials: Hassan Sardar (manager), Tahir Zaman (coach), Asif Bajwa (assistant coach), Derek Verder (physio).

Boxers: Noman Karim, Mehrullah, Asghar Ali, Ahmad Ali.

Officials: Renaldo Alvarez Ulacia (cuban coach), Shams uz zaman manager.

Swimmers: Kiran Khan, Sana Wahid, Ayesha Tajwar, Mahira Karim, Mehrunnisa Khan, Rubab Raza.

Official: Veena Masud

Other officials: Brig Zamarud Khan, Lt Col Muhammad Yahya; Brig Amjad Javaid; Munir Ahmad Dar, Iftikhar Ahmad, Nawaz Kasuri, Ahsan Alam, Muhammad Latif Butt.
