LAHORE, Oct 21: The provincial working committee of the PML-N, which met here on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Sirdar Zulfikar Ali Khosa, criticized the government in strongest terms for its failure to maintain law and order, control prices and provide jobs to millions without a source of livelihood.

The participants demanded that the rulers should accept their overall failure and quit without delay.

Through a resolution, they called for the formation of a special commission to look into the causes of the failure of cotton crop, pin responsibility and punish those who had failed to discharge their respective obligations.

The participants said it was a cowardly act on the part of the government to refuse to renew the passport of deposed prime minister Mian Nawaz Sharif. Similarly, they said, the government was trying to blackmail former Punjab chief minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif for involving him in a false case of police encounter.

They were critical of the operation launched in tribal areas, saying it would alienate the people.

They opposed moves to send Pakistani troops to Iraq. They said at no cost should the Pakistani troops be sent to an occupied country as they would be regarded as part of the occupying force. Khwaja Saad Rafiq, Zaeem Qadri, Binyamin Rizvi and Javed Lateef were also among the participants.
