Health care system for Hajis evolved

ISLAMABAD, Oct 21: A comprehensive health care system has been evolved for the intending pilgrims proceeding to Hijazul Muqadas during the ensuing Haj season.

According to a press release, the government will procure drugs worth over Rs8 million for the medical cover of Hajis in Saudi Arabia.

The press release said medical check-up of all intending pilgrims had been made mandatory on their arrival in Haji camps, and anyone suffering from a fatal disease would not be allowed to proceed for Haj.

Government is also procuring over 135,000 doses of ACWT-135, a vaccine prescribed by the Saudi authorities to check outbreak of Meningitis during Haj season. Moreover, intending pilgrims over 60 years of age will specifically be encouraged to get themselves inoculated against flu before their departure.
