SC orders Punjab Revenue Board to produce record
ISLAMABAD, Oct 21: The Supreme Court allowed time to the Punjab government officials on Monday to produce records before the court regarding allotment of a piece of land in Lahore.
Naveed Ahmed Malik, former adviser to Pakistan People’s Party chairperson Benazir Bhutto, in his contempt of court petition had alleged that the officials of the Punjab Revenue Board were not implementing the decision of the court.
He stated that the apex court had announced its verdict regarding 39 kanals of land in Lahore on June 9, 2000, and had directed the officials to implement the decision within three months. The officials, he claimed, had not implemented the judgment.
The case is regarding illegal occupation of 39 kanals of land in Lahore, in which Naveed Ahmed Malik had a share of 5 kanals.
He argued before the court that illegal occupants were controlling the land through fake certificates which were declared bogus by the court.
