KARACHI, Oct 21: Adviser to Sindh chief minister on special projects Mumtaz Hameed on Tuesday stressed the need of building more dams to meet the shortage of water in Karachi.
The adviser was addressing the engineers and other staff of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board on Tuesday.
The adviser was informed that the city government in this connection had been preparing a feasibility study.
Mumtaz Hameed also directed that the Hub Dam water be properly filtered before it is supplied to consumers.
The adviser, while reviewing the pace of work on 100mgd water supply project of K-III, expressed satisfaction and directed the concerned engineers and consulting firm to further accelerate the pace of work.
The acting managing director of the KWSB, Syed Akhlaq Hussain, and the project manager of K-III were also present.
The adviser urged the KWSB to take steps to plug the leakage and wastage of water.—APP
