LAHORE, Oct 19: Shahid Javed Khan, an amateur, stole the limelight as he won the All-Pakistan Open Garrison golf championship professional event with a score of 12-under-par-204 at the Garrison course on Sunday.
Shahid, who started off on the final day with a score of 13-under-par-131, fired a card of one-over-par-73, but he maintained his slim one stroke lead till the end.
Shabbir Iqbal (Islamabad) and Imdad Hussain (Railways), both professionals, were tied at second position on a score of 205.
Shahid got the main trophy but he could not earn the cash prize as he was an amateur. To decide the winner of first cash prize a play-off was held at the 18th hole of par-4 between Shabbir and Imdad.
Shabbir did it at par but Imdad reached with one extra stroke to get the second position cash prize.
Shabbir pocketed Rs 43,000 while Imdad Rs 28,000.
In the amateur, Shahid Javed Khan was the first with a total of 204. His father Javed A Khan and Sameer Iftikhar got the second and the third position.
