KGS lift title

KARACHI, Oct 19: Karachi Grammar School (KGS) emerged champions of the Askari Intermediate inter-school cricket tournament after defeating St Michael’s School by seven runs in the final at KPI Ground here the other day.

Batting first, KGS made 186 for eight in their quota of 35 overs with Ammar Sikander (42 with four fours) and Mohammad Ali (40 with three fours) the leading scorers.

St Michael’s, in reply, were bowled out for 179 on the penultimate ball of their innings despite a superb knock of 66 Omar Mukhtar, who hit two boundaries.

Nadir Daudi bowled to claim three for 36.
