DADU, Oct 19: A bride and three other persons were killed and the bridegroom and a minor girl were injured when the car (ABV-051) they were travelling in rammed into a trailer on the Super Highway near the Dadabhoy Cement Factory late Saturday night.

They were returning their home in the Abdullah town, Qasimabad, Hyderabad, after the marriage ceremony in Karachi.

Those killed were identified as bride Shabana, 25, Nusrat Begum, 30, Anwaruddin, 45, and car driver Saleem Raja, 33.

The injured, bridegroom Abdul Latif Shaikh and Alai, were taken to the Hyderabad Civil Hospital. The bodies were sent to a Jamshoro hospital.

The Nooriabad police have impounded the trailer and arrested its driver, Mohib Ali.

Naib Nazim POLL: The election campaign for the seat of district Naib Nazim has reached the final stage and tough contest is expected between Dr Zahid Ali Jatoi of the Dadu Ittehad Panel and Dost Ali Jaiser of the Awam Dost Panel.

Federal minister for industries and production Liaquat Ali Jatoi is holding corner meetings across the district to get support for Dr Jatoi. Some 1,567 Nazims, Naib Nazims and union council councillors will caste their votes on Oct 20.
