Bureau Report
HYDERABAD, Oct 17: The Taluka Nazim, Latifabad, Abdul Jabbar Khan, has condemned the registration of an FIR at the Hussainabad police station against the municipal officer, Latifabad, Abdul Hameed Rajput, Taluka officer Zafar Baig Mughal, and other staff.
The Hussainabad police when contacted on the telephone said that the case has been registered under the instructions of the sessions court.
He was speaking at a news conference at the Hyderabad Press Club on Friday.
He demanded that the Sindh governor, the chief minister, the adviser to the chief minister on home affairs and the district Nazim to take legal action against the SHO for registering a false FIR against the municipal officials.
He has further demanded that the FIR should be cancelled forthwith and a high level inquiry should be ordered in the matter for taking legal action against those who were involved in this illegal act.
He alleged that the self-styled chairman of the Railway Cooperative Housing Society, Matloob Ahmed Khan, and his companions, Sajid Bin Wajid, Aftab Rana, Zahid Rana, Bostan Ali, Mubin Rajput and others belonging to the land mafia group has been engaged for quite some time in grabbing government lands in Latifabad and disposing it off by manipulating records.
He said this group of land grabbers tried to occupy Survey No. 27, Unit No2, Autobhan Road Latifabad, some time back, which is the property of Latifabad Taluka.
Mr Khan said that a commercial project with the name of Super Society Market was announced on this Taluka property.
He said the Taluka administration issued a showcause notice, and added that civil suit No113/2001 and suit No154/99 were also pending in the court of the second senior civil judge, Hyderabad, against the Pakistan Railways and others.
He said despite this the alleged land mafia started illegal construction and booking.
He said, in the meantime, a letter was received from the DDO (Revenue), Hyderabad, on July 2 informing the Taluka administration that the Sindh governor had issued instructions that the land being used for commercial purposes by the Railway Authorities and its sale was against the Land Use Policy of the Sindh government.
He said that without permission from the provincial government, government land could not be sold.
He said the Taluka administration took legal action in the matter and the illegal occupation of land was brought to an end.
Mr Khan further alleged that the land grabbers with the help of hooligans interfered in the official performance of duty and threatened the municipal officials with dire consequences.
He said that the police arrested the head of this group, Matloob Ahmed Khan, and others from the spot but the FIR was distorted.
The Taluka Nazim claimed that as per the letter of the registrar, Cooperative Societies, Sindh, Matloob Ahmed Khan, who was posing as chairman of the Railways Employees Cooperative Housing Society Limited, was not even a member of the society as his membership had been cancelled.
He said not only this, but in accordance with the letter of the director, Properties, Pakistan Railways Headquarters, the lease of Messrs Al-Yasrab Construction Company had also been revoked.
He made it clear that the Taluka administration would not allow any land grabber to occupy government property.
