Police injure two traders at picket

LAHORE, Oct 16: Police injured two traders at a picket in Misri Shah on Thursday.

Sheikh Jehangir and his friend Munir, traders of Azam Cloth Market, were on their way by a rickshaw when it was signalled to stop by the police at a picket.

During their body search by the police, they exchanged harsh words with them. Following the incident, Constable Manzoor opened fire on the traders. They were taken to the Mayo Hospital where their condition was stated to be critical.

SUICIDE: A youth, who had been looking for some job for quite some time, committed suicide at Youhanabad on Thursday.

Reports said Ilyas, 22, was jobless, and his family used to admonish him. On Thursday, he locked himself in a room and took poison. He was taken to the Mayo Hospital where he died.

The body was handed over to the family without autopsy.

FIRE: A house was damaged by fire in Sanda on Thursday.

According to fire brigade officials, the fire erupted in the house of Sohail Gilani due to short-circuit. The house owner estimated a loss of Rs400,000.
