KARACHI: Bus service to Keenjhar Lake planned


KARACHI, Oct 16: The Sindh Tourism Development Corporation (STDC) has planned a special bus service from Karachi to Keenjhar Lake to make the access of people easy to the recreational spot, said Sindh minister for culture and tourism, Shabbir Ahmed Qaimkhani, during his visit to Keenjhar Lake on Thursday.

The minister reviewed the available facilities and safety and security arrangements on the lake and directed the officials concerned in connection with cleaning of the spot and improvement in facilities.

He also inspected the dispensary and the rescue team and asked about the availability of necessary medicines including vaccines for snake and scorpion bites.

He said the present government was paying especial attention to provide maximum facilities and healthy environment at recreational places.

The minister informed that the Keenjhar lake water sports programme was under consideration in which different kind of games would be held; a Mela would also be organized on the occasion and a special stall would be set up to promote the culture of Sindh, musical shows would be held and private sector companies would offer especial packages.— PPI
