Poor ticket sales for first Test

By Our Sports Correspondent

LAHORE, Oct 15: The sale of season tickets for the first Test between Pakistan and South Africa, received a poor response  when it started at different branches of a  national bank from Wednesday.

The  first Test is scheduled to begin at Gaddafi  Stadium from Friday and the second at Faisalabad from Oct 24.

No one asked for the tickets but  hopefully a good response was likely from Thursday, said an official of one of the UBL branches designated for the sale of tickets.

Meanwhile, chairman organising committee Arif Rahim told Dawn  that after the start of season tickets, the daily tickets would also be put up for sale from Thursday at UBL branches  and Gaddafi Stadium booths.

He said that the rate of tickets had been reduced to attract more crowd for the Test series.

The price of the tickets are:

Fazal Mahmood and Imran Khan Enclosure (season ticket Rs  1,000, daily Rs 250). Wasim Akram, Khan Mohammad, Waqar Younis and Mahmood Hussain Enclosures (season Rs 800, daily Rs  200); AH Karlosures (season Rs 500, daily Rs 150); Saeed Ahmad, Zaheer Abbas,  Hanif Mohammad, Imtiaz Ahmad Enclosures (season Rs  400, daily Rs 100),  Nazars  and  Ladies Enclosures  (season  Rs  200, daily Rs 75),  Majid  Khan,  Abdul Qadir,  Rajas, Saeed Anwar, Sarfraz Nawaz Enclosures  (season  Rs 200, daily Rs 50).
