GILGIT, Oct 15: The first elected deputy speaker of the Northern Areas Legislative Council, Mohammad Jaffar of the Pakistan People’s Party, was administered the oath of the office on Wednesday.
The council concluded the debate on the Northern Areas budget.
It adopted a resolution demanding the extension of the Newspaper Employees Service Conditions Act, 1973, to the Northern Areas and implementation of the wage award.—Correspondent
