Four killers of Agani held

By Our Correspondent

LARKANA, Oct 14: The Larkana police on Tuesday arrested four of the killers of Malik Agani, a Sindhi short story writer and television playwright, who was killed along with his son, Tanveer Agani, in November 2002.

The DSP, Saddar, Akhtar Chandio, who led the raid, told this correspondent that acting on a tip-off they raided the house of Agan Agani in the Lahino Samtio village in the jurisdiction of the Mahota police station. They arrested four men — Hussain Bakhsh Agani, Liaquat Agani, Agan Agani and Gulshan Agani — who had been absconding since the killing of Malik Agani. A Kalashnikov was recovered from their possession.

The DSP said that a case regarding the killing of Malik Agani and his son was registered with the Mahota police station on November 12, 2002, where Mohammed Rafique, Mohammed Urs, Ali Dino, Wahid Bakhsh, and Hazar Khan had also been nominated besides the four who have been arrested.

JSSF: Students affiliated with the Jeay Sindh Students Federation (JSSF), who boycotted Monday’s talks, began their protest in the Chandka Medical College by observing hunger strike on Tuesday.
