KARACHI: Preparation of master-plan for CHK ordered
KARACHI, Oct 14: Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ibad has directed that a comprehensive master plan be immediately prepared for Civil Hospital, Karachi.
He described as appreciative the development works being carried out in the hospital under public-private partnership, but said it should be done in an organized manner so that results of these sincere efforts could come to the fore.
He was presiding over a meeting at the Governor’s House in which the students of DMC of 1978 batch briefed him about the details of establishment of an OT complex at Civil Hospital. They also spoke about their plans regarding upgradation of the Civil Hospital.
The governor appreciated the upgradation of facilities at the hospital and lauded the role of private sector and former students of the DMC in this regard.
On the occasion, the governor announced a grant of Rs 2 million for the OT Complex.
He observed that the Civil Hospital is playing a significant role, not only in providing medical facilities to the people, but also to people from other parts of the country.
He directed that all projects for Civil Hospital be implemented in accordance with the master plan and that sincere and functional project direc-tors be appointed for each scheme.
Dr Ishratul Ibad assured of providing a matching grant for each project to be financed by the former DMC students.
Also present at the meeting were Governor’s Principal Secretary, Brig (Retd) Akhtar Zamin, Secretary of Health Ashiq Hussain Memon, DMC principal Dr Tipu Sultan, MS of Civil Hospital Capt (Retd) Ali Reza, Dr Asim, Dr Prof Masood Hameed, Dr Saeeda Haider, Dr Abdul Bari and others.—APP
