Published October 15, 2003

KARACHI, Oct 14: Secretary General Jamaat-i-Islami Syed Munawar Hassan has said that the people of Kashmir, Palestine, Afghanistan, Chechenia and Iraq are indulged in Jihad against the occupants as it is the only respectable way of living as well as restoring independence in accordance with Islamic teachings.

Mr Munawar was speaking at a gathering of the parents of freedom fighters, who were martyred in occupied Kashmir and Afghanistan.

He said, “By declaring Mujahideen as terrorists and depicting Jihad as terrorism, the holy war does not become illegal.” —PPI
