KARACHI, Oct 14: Seven ships carrying DAP fertilizer, crude oil and containers are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources.

Cargo handling activity, which had fallen to a modest proportions during the last couple of days showed a sizable expansion at 77,528 tons comprising 27,811 tons of export cargo and 49,717 tons of import, notably liquid one.

Berthing activity at the wharves, however, remained modest owing to slow arrivals of foreign flag vessels. As a result, four ships, Min He, to unload and load containers, Sargodha to offload rock phosphate, Portoraz, to unload coal and Naga to unload crude oil were berthed after the departure of three.

The ships, which departed included Ocean Genius, Iwato and Jo Brevik, while Naga and Mercs Kandy are due to sail out on Wednesday.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: Panos-G, with crude oil, Kota Wangsa, Hyundai Sprinter, Bunga Kenari, with containers, Sea Rainbow, with 27,786 tons of DAP fertilizer, Clestian, with general cargo and Le He, to load general commodities.
