Three jailed for life in murder case

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Oct 11: An anti-terrorism court here on Saturday awarded life imprisonment to three accused of in the famous murder case of SSP Ijaz Ahmad Langaryal.

But the court presided over by Muhammad Ayub acquitted one of the accused Inayat Ali Shah, who is a DSP, due to lack of evidence.

The court observed that the prosecution had proved its case against three accused— Sadat Hussain, Ahsen Haider and Ejaz Hussain.

Dera Ismail Khan SSP Ejaz Ahmed Langaryal was murdered in a terrorist attack when he was on his routine evening walk here on July 5, 2001.

Two other accused Shamim Nadir and Shakil have been absconding and were declared proclaimed offenders in the same case. The court issued their perpetual arrest warrants.
