LAHORE, Oct 11: A regular PhD programme will soon be started in the Punjab University College of Information Technology.

This was announced by Punjab University Vice-Chancellor Arshad Mahmood on Saturday. He was speaking at a ceremony held to distribute shields among the position-winners of the all Punjab Inter-Universities competitions.

The vice-chancellor appreciated the talent of the students, who participated in the project designing and development (engineering, physics and chemistry), software development, poetry, drama and poster competitions.

He said the students should benefit from the knowledge and experience of the PU faculty.

The vice-chancellor said the university had increased the student scholarships to encourage and help them in the pursuit of education.—APP
