RAWALPINDI, Oct 11: A court here on Saturday awarded life- terms to two pesh imams for killing their colleague in a dispute over running the affairs of a mosque in Kotli Sattian two-and-a- half years ago.

The convicts, Hafiz Quratul Ain and Hafiz Bin-i-Abbas, were also fined Rs100,000 each by additional district and sessions judge Syed Pervez Ali Shah. The amount would go as compensation to the bereaved family.

On default of the payment, the convicts would have to spend another six months in jail.

According to the prosecution, the convicts had killed Hafiz Mansoor two-and-a-half years ago for controlling the seat of imam in the same mosque wherein the convicts wanted to secure the seat for themselves.
