Karachi Port operations

KARACHI, Oct 9: Six ships carrying palm oil, chemical and to load ethanol are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.

Cargo handling activity at the port was maintained on the higher side owing to larger handling of liquid tonnage. The total rose to 0.113m tons comprising 18,094 tons of export tonnage and 94,631 tons of import cargo including 70,750 tons of liquid tonnage.

Four ships, Hyundai Stride, to unload and load containers, Gulf Progress to offload high speed diesel, Shalamar to offload crude oil and Nur Yanbu to unload chemicals were berthed after the departure of five.

The ships, which departed included Bunga Terasak, Kota Teguh, Hyundai Stride, APL Portugal and Iron-B, while Shalamar, Flame, Corin Thiakos, Al-Mariyah, and Gulf Progress are due to sail out on Friday.

The following ships are due on Friday: Chemroad Mega, with lube base oil, Stolt Alliance, with chemicals, Jo Bervik, with 8,000 tons of palm oil, Marinor to load 4,000 tons of ethanol, Kota Tegap and Wan Hai-305, with containers.
