ISLAMABAD, Oct 8: Defending champions Army continued their domination of the 45th national swimming championship bagging another seven gold medals on the second day at the Pakistan Sports Complex.
The Army swimmers who had four gold medals on Tuesday’s opening day, did remarkably well to take their tally to 11 golds for a total of 136 points. They also claimed six silver and three bronze medals.
Wapda were in second place with 61 points their swimmers landing one gold, three silver and a bronze. Punjab were third with 52 points having won two gold, one silver and five bronze medals.
Army’s Muhammad Mumtaz won two individual gold medals besides figuring in his team’s victory in two relay events.
