KARACHI: MIP warns of agitation if assassins not arrested
KARACHI, Oct 8: Leaders of the Millat-i-Islamia Pakistan, formerly Sipah-i-Sahaba, on Wednesday warned of nationwide agitation, especially in Karachi, if assassins of Maulana Azam Tariq were not arrested.
“We find if very difficult to control our activists as killers of Haq Nawaz Jhangvi, Maulana Azam Tariq and some other leaders have not been arrested and brought to justice till date,” MIP leaders Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Nadeem and Maulana Aurangzeb said in a joint statement.
Maulana Azam Tariq, who was head of the MIP and an MNA, was assassinated along with his four companions in Islamabad a couple of days back.
The MIP leaders pointed out that frustration in activists was growing high due to the government’s failure in apprehending the culprits and that this might create a law and order situation that could go out of control.—PPI
