KARACHI, Oct 7: Advisor to Sindh chief minister on home affairs, Aftab Shaikh, on Tuesday warned of strict action against those disturbing law and order in the city.
“No one can be allowed to cause damage to private and public properties in the name of mourning”, the adviser said while talking to a cross-section of people at his office.
Aftab Shaikh said that on receipt of report of assassination of Maulana Azam Tariq and his four body guards in Islamabad, he issued directives to the IGP, the home secretary and all TPOs to make foolproof security arrangements.
The authorities, he said, have been ordered that those causing damage to properties be arrested forthwith and legal action be initiated against
them without any favour or pressure.
The adviser said he personally went round the sensitive areas of the city on Monday night and directed all town officers to remain vigilant.
He said that town officers would be responsible for any disturbance in their areas.
The Adviser expressed sorrow and grief over the killing of Maulana Azam Tariq.—APP
