HYDERABAD, Oct 6: Ten people were killed and eight injured, six of them seriously, when a van collided with a truck on Monday night near Pataro toll plaza on the Indus highway.

According to reports, a van (No.RE-1086) of M/S Manzoor Decoration Karachi was on its way to Karachi from Bhit gas field where the decoration company had supplied various items. When the vehicle reached near Sehwan toll plaza on the highway, it dashed against a truck (No.GLT-7647) killing 10 people on the spot and injuring eight others.

Three of the victims were identified as Feroze Ahmed, son of Ghulam Mohammad; Haq Nawaz, son of Ghulam Qadir; Ghulam Mustafa and Mohammad Iqbal, son of Wali Muhammad Shah. The names of other victims could not be ascertained.

The injured were identified as Muhammad Shahid, Abdul Shakoor, Waseem Masih, Akbar, Muhammad Ahmed Malik, Babar Pervez, Muhammad Ajmal, Viliyam and Sibtain Ali.

The bodies and injured were taken to Liaquat University Hospital Jamshoro and then shifted to Hyderabad city branch hospital.
