Five held for attack on Khasadar checkpoint

LANDI KOTAL, Oct 6: The political authorities in Khyber Agency arrested on Monday five persons for their alleged involvement in an attack on Bara Khasadar checkpoint on Sunday.

The Khasadar force, in collaboration with the personnel of the Frontier Constabulary, retaliated and raided the houses of Lal Nazar and Ghuncha Gul at Nao Gazee Baba area of Shalobar.

Those arrested are: Wahid Gul, Sajjad Gul, Shah Mohammad, Habib Khan and Atlas Khan. They have been put behind bars in Bara prison. The administration has also served notices on the Shalobar elders to explain the reason for attack on the Khasadar checkpoint.

OUTLAW HELD: Three persons, including a minor and his mother, were injured during a crossfire between proclaimed offenders and the Khasadar force at Akkakhel area in Bara, Khyber Agency, on Monday.

The authorities, acting on a tipoff, raided the house of Sulaiman early on Monday where two proclaimed offenders were reportedly hiding.

Anticipating arrest, the outlaws opened fire at the Khasadar force. In the crossfire, an inmate of the house, Arab Khan, and two pedestrians, a mother and her minor son, received injuries.

Arab Khan was arrested but his accomplice managed to escape. The injured were admitted at the Dogra hospital Bara.
