One man’s rule not to be allowed: MMA

By Our Correspondent

SUKKUR, Oct 6: Sindh Mutthida Majlis-i-Amal secretary-general Dr Khalid Mehmood Soomro has said that the MMA will not allow one man’s rule in the country and will initiate a movement for the removal of the president.

In this connection, he said, the MMA leaders would start a tour of Sindh from Oct 22.

According to a press statement issued here on Monday, he said that issues of the Legal Framework Order and the uniform had become a matter of ego for President Gen Pervez Musharraf who, according to him, held his personal interests above those of the country.

Terming the Kalabagh dam and Thal canal projects a danger to the national unity, he said that the president Musharraf was trying to divert the people’s attention from the problems faced by them.

He alleged that the president wanted to create a rift among the provinces to perpetuate his rule.

Criticizing the army operation in the tribal areas of NWFP, he demanded that the operation should be immediately stopped.
