KARACHI: Pakistani missions abroad not efficient

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Oct 6: The Pak-American Coordination Committee (PACC) has drawn the governments attention to the failure of Pakistans missions abroad in ensuring protection to Pakistanis in their respective countries.

There exist no other institutions that could look after their interests, it pointed out.

Mr M. Arshad Khan, chairman of the PACC, addressing a press conference at Karachi Press Club on Monday said that the committee had been formed to promote Pakistans image among US congressmen and senators and to provide assistance to expatriates in distress in the US.

Mr Arshad pointed out that though Pakistanis in the United States were contributing greatly to the national exchequer through their remittances, they were being offered no facilities. Furthermore, he added, on their return home for a periodic visit to nears and dears, the expatriates were treated like aliens.

He urged political parties to consider extending help to the expatriates through their branches abroad and also promote cause of the Pakistani community instead of only holding anti-government rallies.
