KARACHI, Oct 6: Sindh government will spend Rs161.267 million on improvement of education system and raising education standard through training teachers in the province.
This was stated by Sindh chief minister’s adviser on forests and wildlife, Syed Ejaz Ali Shah Shirazi, while talking to a teachers’ delegation from Thatta district, which met him on Monday.
Giving details of the amount to be spent, he informed the teachers that Rs22.524 million would be spent on teachers’s education, while Rs14.400 million would be used as incentive money for the teachers.
He said Rs76.343 million had been earmarked for on-the-job training of 12,000 newly-recruited primary school teachers, Rs4 million for elementary education, merit-based scholarship scheme for deserving students, while Rs8 million would be spent on uplift of the Government Elementary College (boys), Qasimabad, Liaquatabad, Karachi.
Mr Shirazi said the government was initiating new schemes to benefit the poor, particularly those living in rural areas, so that maximum basic amenities could be made available to them.
He assured the delegation that he would approach the education authorities for resolving problems of teachers, especially of those belonging to Tattha district.—APP
