RAWALPINDI, Oct 5: The commander, US Central Command, Gen John P. Abizaid arrived here on Sunday on a two-day official visit to Pakistan.

The Centcom chief is scheduled to call on President Gen Pervez Musharraf and Vice Chief of the Army Staff, Gen Mohammad Yousaf Khan, an ISPR statement said.

Sources said the two sides would discuss Pakistan-US cooperation in Afghanistan, particularly hunt for Al Qaeda fighters.

They said Pakistan would seek further strengthening of the its border with Afghanistan because it felt the aircraft and helicopters being provided by the US were not sufficient to monitor over long western borders.
