KARACHI, Oct 5: The chairman of Employees Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI), M. Shafi Malik, has said that his institution is determined to provide social protection to the poor working class and subsequently to all citizens of Pakistan.
He pointed out that the EOBI was committed to fulfil this pledge in pursuance of Article-38(C) of the Constitution. He was speaking as chief guest at the certificate distribution ceremony for participants of Capacity Building Course for EOBI Officers arranged by the National Institute for Public Administration (NIPA) at its premises here on Saturday.
Mr Shafi said that his institution’s mission was to transform the EOBI into a viable, progressive and self-sustained organization, capable of providing retirement benefits to all citizens in service of Pakistan with the active support of employers and employees to promote economic prosperity of all stakeholders.
For the first time in EOBI’s history, he said, an institutional strategy had been published that represented a complete policy document containing guidelines for each division of the institution.
The EOBI course was conducted to develop the capabilities and calibre of middle management, he said adding that every officer should work with dedication and best of his abilities, as he would not only be rewarded here but also afterwards.
Later, the chairman distributed certificates among the participants of the course.
Director General EOBI Nooruddin Shaikh, Course Director of NIPA Muhammad Khursheed, and Chief Instructor Javed Iqbal were also present at the ceremony. —APP
