Pakistani attacked in US

LOS ANGELES, Oct 2: A 24-year-old Pakistani was beaten up by gangsters in South Orange, New Jersey, the Association of Pakistani Professionals said in statement on Thursday.

Nabeel Siddiqi graduated last month from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.

Mr Nabeel, whose condition was said to be critical, sustained a severe injury to the brain after being hit on the head with an iron rod. One of the suspect is in custody but may be released because of his being a juvenile.

Mr Siddiqui’s parents, whose only son is alone in a hospital, are trying to get the US visa.
