KARACHI: Housewife shot dead by robbers: Three die in road accidents

KARACHI, Oct 2: A housewife was shot dead during a robbery in North Karachi on early Thursday morning.
Police said that four armed men entered the house of Mohammad Iqbal in Sector 14-A, North Karachi.
As the armed bandits tried to make the inmates hostages at gunpoint, an inmate, Irfan, grabbed one of the suspects, whose accomplices opened fire, injuring Irfan along with his father and mother.
After opening the fire, the suspects fled the house, leaving the family in a pool of blood.
Neighbours, with the help of the police, shifted the injured to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where the housewife, Parveen, was pronounced dead on arrival.
Irfan and his father, Iqbal, were admitted for treatment at the hospital.
STABBED: A young man was stabbed to death by unidentified persons in Chowkandi graveyard off the National Highway on Thursday.
Police said that Liaquat Ali Lashari, 26, was stabbed in the chest by in Chowkandi graveyard.
He was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where he died during treatment.
ACCIDENTS: Three persons died in separate road traffic accidents in different parts of the city on Thursday.
Police said that a middle-aged woman died and her son was injured when they were knocked down by a speeding minibus of route G-7 on University Road near old-sabzi mandi.
The police said that Khursheed Bibi, 45, and Zulfiqar were on a motorcycle when the accident took place.
They were taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where the woman was pronounced dead on arrival.
A truck driver died when his vehicle overturned at Numaish traffic section on Thursday.
Police said that Raza Ahmed, 40, died and two others were injured when the truck (LS-5401) overturned due to speed.
An elderly man died in a road traffic accident on M A Jinnah Road on Thursday.
The police said that Qari Yaseenullah, 65, was crossing the road when he was knocked down by a speeding minibus of route (G-7).
The victim was taken to the nearby Civil Hospital, where he was pronounce dead on arrival.
The errant minibus driver escaped from the spot following the accident.
KILLED: A watchman was killed by unidentified bandits in the FB Area late on Wednesday night.
Police said that Abdul Ghaffar, 70, was on duty at a factory in FB Area, when the bandits killed him by hitting him on his head with a blunt weapon.
Later, they took away a truck (KG-5399), Suzuki pickup (KG-5510) and a generator from the premises of the factory.
BODY FOUND: Body of an unidentified young man was found in Hazara Colony near Kalapul on Thursday.
Police said that body of an unknown man in his mid 20’s was found from the street 4, C Area in Hazara Colony.
The body had torture marks and marks of strangulation on the neck.
The body was shifted to the Edhi morgue for identification.
ROBBERY: A housewife was robbed of cash and valuables at her house in Waheedabad.
Police said two men requested Haseeba Khatoon to give them water, as she offered the water, the armed men barged into the house and locked her in the wash room. They collected cash, jewellry and a new television set from the house and escaped.
