KARACHI, Oct 1: India gained their first points in the Emerging Team Trophy triangular tournament in Colombo after their match against hosts Sri Lanka was abandoned without a ball bowled on Wednesday.

According to details available here, umpires Mian Aslam and Riazuddin, both from Pakistan, made several inspections but found the conditions at the P. Saravanamuttu Stadium unplayable because of heavy rains.

Sri Lanka, who both their first round fixtures, lead the standings with 15 points and are virtually assured of playing Sunday’s final.

Pakistan, who play Sri Lanka on Thursday, are second with six points while India stay bottom with just three points.
