KARACHI: 1,200 primary schools to be upgraded


KARACHI, Oct 1: Sindh Education and Literacy Department in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank has launched Decentralized Elementary Education Project (DEEP).

Under the project, 1,200 primary schools will be upgraded to elementary level and convert 204 elementary schools into English medium schools, besides other ancillary activities to increase the enrolment and enhance the quality of education.

According to a spokesman for the DEEP project, a workshop is being organized on Oct 2 to review the activities and implementation plan of the project. All district Nazims, DCOs, EDOs of education, finance, and works and services are expected to attend the workshop. —APP
