VEHARI, Sept 29: A man was killed and 17 others, including PML-N vice-president Tehmina Daultana, injured in an accident on Vehari-Luddan road near Ratta Tibba stop, some 18 kilometres from here, on Monday.

Ms Daultana was going to Luddan when her Pajero (LOZ-998) collided with a wagon (LHO-266) head-on while overtaking a tractor-trolley.

Both the vehicles overturned after collision as a result of which wagon passenger Sagar Husain Sayal died on the spot.

He was the headmaster of Government Primary School, Luddan. Ms Daultana, her driver Wazir, guard Mustafa and 14 wagon passengers sustained injuries.

The injured were taken to the DHQ Hospital where they were stated to be out of danger.

The injured wagon passengers include; Yasin, Muhammad Husain of Hasilpur, Abdul Sattar, Muhammad Husain, Abdul Wali, Saeed Ahmad, Kausar Nawaz, Faiz Elahi, Ahmad Bakhsh, Saeed Anwar of Luddan, Bashir Ahmad of Chak 47/KB, Sughra Shah, Ms Aysha of Mauza Ghulam Shah and Azim Sukhera of Vehari.

Many local leaders of the MMA, the PPP, the PML-N and tehsil Nazim Mian Saqib Khurshid reached the hospital to inquire after Ms Daultana’s health.
