Two rival clans make peace

SHIKARPUR, Sept 29: A Jirga was held here on Sunday at the Bhayo House to settle ongoing dispute between Jatoi and Tunio clans of the district.

The two groups agreed to Sardar Wahid Bux Bhayo, Dr Mohammad Ibrahim Jatoi and Sardar Altaf Ahmed Tunio to conduct the proceedings as ameens (trustees).

While Haji Roshan Ali Shah, Riaz Ahmed Gahejo and Mazhar Ali Jatoi and Haji Karim Dino Jatoi (Badani) were nominated as musheers (counsel) of Tunio and Jatoi sides, respectively.

The counsel recorded statements of Talib Tunio and Dost Mohammad Jatoi, representatives of the rival parties, after they gave undertaking to speak the truth. Ameens and musheers pronounced the decision after the hearing. The two groups accepted the verdict.

According to the details, the Jatois will have to pay Rs300,000 as a compensation for murder of Hatim Tunio, Rs25,000 for injuring Sanaullah Buriro and Rs50,000 for taking away 20 buffaloes.

The Tunios will have to pay Rs300,000 as compensation against the murder of Yar Mohammad Jatoi and Rs25,000 for injuring Gul Mohammad Jatoi. Thus Tunios will have to pay an amount of Rs325,000 to Jatois.
