Patron II lead

KARACHI, Sept 28: Patron II comprising M A Ansari, Mirza Shauq Hussain, Abdul Khaliq-Nasir Reza Mohasin Chandana and Gulzar Bilal are leading the pack in Super Marathon Invitational Bridge tournament which is underway at Aslam Bridge Hall.

The tournament is being held under the auspices of Pakistan Bridge Federation and Karachi Bridge Association is conducting it.

Ten teams were invited, out of which eight teams Allana, Candyland, EFU, Shipyard, Chandna, Giants, Patron I and 2 accepted the invitation, so the organisers invited Four Bidders and the Winners.

Half of the nine-round single round robin has been already completed. Accordingly Patron 2 are heading with 75 V.P. They displayed their art of bidding and defense while outplaying Chandana 24-6 then a close victory over Four Bidders 16-14, extracted 21-9 from Shipyard and lost narrowly to Giants 14-16.

Following are the team position at the half way mark: Patron II 75, Giants 70, Allana 68, EFU 67, Patron I 58, Shipyard 57, Candyland 57, Winners 53, Chandana 47 and Four Bidders 47 Victory Points. —PPI
