ITF veterans tournament from Oct 5

KARACHI, Sept 27: Twelve foreign players from six countries will participate in International Tennis Federation (ITF) Group 4 World Ranking Medicam Pakistan International veterans tennis Championship to be held from Oct 5-11 at Karachi Gymkhana.

Talking to newsmen at a press conference President Pakistan Tennis Veterans Association (PTVA) Saeed Hai said that Pakistan was the fourth country in the world to hold this championship. He said that China has not yet confirmed their participation.

Tournament director, Khalid Rehmani said that around 50 players from Pakistan would participate in the tournament while six players from Japan, one each from Switzerland, Turkey, Germany, France and two from Russia have confirmed their entries.

Eight events including 35 plus, 45 plus, 55 plus, singles and doubles for men 40 plus singles and doubles for ladies will be played.

The winners will win 60 points in ITF world ranking.—PPI
