Hostage recovered, four arrested

NAWABSHAH, Sept 27: The Bandhi police arrested four dacoits and recovered a kidnapped man after an encounter near Bandhi on Saturday.

According to reports, a group of four dacoits kidnapped Amjad Ali Arain, resident of the Satieun village, Deh 7, Nusrat, from the agriculture fields of Amir Ali Mari late Friday night.

On Saturday morning, a police party headed by DPO Dr Sarwar Jamali chased the dacoits and witnessed some movement in a banana field. After sensing danger the dacoits opened fire.

The police retaliated and after an encounter, which lasted for 40 minutes, the police arrested the four dacoits identified as Rahim Dad, son of Sakhi Mohammad, resident of Kingri, Khairpur district; Ghulam Shabbir, son of Behram Mari, resident of Nawabshah; Imam Ali, son of Shah Mohammad Mari, resident of Nawabshah, and Latif Ali, son of Ahsan Mari, resident of Nawabshah.

The police recovered the kidnapped man, Amjad Arain. The police also recovered two Kalashnikovs, 4 magazines and bullets from their possession.

The police claimed that Rahim Dad Narejo was a member of the Narejo gang.
