KARACHI, Sept 25: A fine all-round performance by Asim Abbasi enabled City School (PAF chapter) defeat Avicenna ‘A’ Level School by 54 runs in the Askari Intermediate inter-school cricket tournament at KPI Ground on Thursday.

Asim struck five boundaries in scoring 52 as City School made 159 for four in their 25 overs. He then captured three wickets for seven runs as Avicenna were bowled out for 105 in 22 overs.

In another match played at PAD Park, St Paul’s High School overwhelmed Bay View High School by nine wickets.

Meanwhile, Karachi Grammar School emerged winners on Wednesday, beating Lecole High School by 39 runs in a high-scoring match played at PAD Park with Umar (113) and Muneeb Khan (40 and 5-40) playing outstandingly.

Summarised scores:

City School (PAF) beat Avicenna ‘A’ Level by 54 runs.

CITY SCHOOL 159-4 in 25 overs (Asim Abbasi 52, Danish Hasan 28 not out, Hasan Sajjad 23; Mustafa Sami 2-26);

AVICENNA ‘A’ LEVEL 105 in 22 overs (Asim Abbasi 3-7, Siddiq Hasan 2-15).

St Paul’s High School beat Bay View High School by nine wickets.

BAY VIEW 129 in 24.1 overs (Jahangir Khan 37, Ghulam Rasool 37; Saleem Serosh 4-28, Mohammad Talif 2-13);

ST PAUL’S 133-1 in 19.5 overs (Saleem Pervez 55, Sunny Baboo 43 not out).

Karachi Grammar School beat Lecole High School by 39 runs.

KARACHI GRAMMAR 242-7 in 25 overs (Umar Shaikh 113, Muneeb Khan 40; Yawar Hussain 2-35, Mubashir 2-35);

LECOLE 203 in 21.3 overs (Faisal Yahya 46 not out, Daniyal Ahmed 42, Farooq Akbar 41, Umar Amin 22; Muneeb Khan 5-40, Wasim Anjum 2-39).
