ISLAMABAD, Sept 25: Interior Minister Makhdoom Faisal Saleh Hayat has directed the Punjab Chief Secretary and Provincial Police Officer (PPO) to ensure tight security for the South African cricket team, says a handout of the Press Information Department.
The South Africans arrive in Lahore on Sept 29 to begin their tour that comprises five one-day matches and two Tests besides a practice match.
The minister told the official to “employ the services of all the required security apparatus to make foolproof security arrangements for the visitors.”
The handout said that the federal government was also given directions to provide all assistance to the Punjab government for the security of the tourists.
South Africa play two one-day games in Lahore, the third in Faisalabad and another two in Rawalpindi.
Lahore will also host a Test match while the second one will be in Faisalabad.
