SAHIWAL, Sept 25: The PPP vice-president of Chak 54/4-B was reportedly kidnapped by his four opponents.

Javed Ahmad was going to Sahiwal from his village when his opponents stopped him, bundled him into their car and escaped. Najma, the wife of the kidnapped PPP leader, apprehended that her husband would be murdered. It seemed that police were also favouring the kidnappers. They have registered a case only under section 364/34 PPC against Baqar Ali, Iqbal, Ahmed Din and Muhammad Ali. No arrest has so far been made.

ARRESTED: Grain Market police claimed to have arrested one of the three killers of two truck drivers near Chak 78/5-R on the bank of Lower Bari Doab Canal.
