KARACHI: Elderly man shot dead

KARACHI, Sept 25: An elderly man was shot dead by unknown persons in Orangi Town on late Wednesday night.

Police said that Zafar Khan, 65, father of 18 children, a cloth trader, residing in Block-B MPR, Colony Orangi Town, was called out of his house by some unknown persons.

The police said that as Zafar came out, the unknown persons shot him and escaped.

He was rushed to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The police were investigating the case.

INJURED: A shopkeeper was shot at by armed men during a robbery in Hijrat Colony on Thursday evening.

Police said that Mohammad Khan, owner of an leasing shop in Hijrat Colony, was sitting at his shop when unknown armed youths came to his shop and deprived him of Rs 15,000.

As he followed them in the street, they opened fire at him and fled.

The injured was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where he was admitted for treatment.
