KARACHI, Sept 25: The World Food Programme, under its country operations, will spend $15 million in five years on mothers and children nutrition and health in Sindh.

A delegation of the WFP, led by its representative in Pakistan, German Valdivia, called on acting Sindh Governor Syed Muzaffar Hussain Shah at the Governor’s House on Thursday and briefed him about the programme details.

Speaking on the occasion the acting governor informed that the government was implementing a coordinated programme for health and food care of mother and child, and a big chunk of annual budget was allocated for this purpose.

He said that special attention was being paid on arranging food to attract children towards primary education.

The acting governor, thanking the WFP on behalf of the government, said that its help would assist the government efforts for the purpose.—APP
