KARACHI, Sept 25: Sindh chief minister’s advisor on Health, Mohammad Noman Saigol, no Thursday announced the formation of a five-member committee to resolve the problems of paramedical staff in the province.

Talking to a delegation of the Pakistan Paramedical Staffs Association, which called on him at his office, including its chairman Aziz Ahmed, president Niaz Hussain Bhutto and General Secretary Parshotum Das, the advisor assured that efforts would be made to meet their demands.

The demands included implementation of the approved service structure of Health Department, provision of higher education opportunities to paramedical staff, provision of medical facilities, adjustment of the paramedical staff on their present posts and the restoration of services of the paramedical staff of Larkana.

Reportedly, Mr Saigol had visited the leaders of the association at the Press Club on Wednesday, and while persuading them to call off their hunger strike, invited them to discuss their grievances at his office.

Sindh Health Secretary Ashiq Hussain Memon and additional secretary, Health, Wahid Baksh Mahar, were also present on the occasion.—PPI
