Pakistan-China friendship based on trust, says Soomro

By A Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Sept 24: A Chinese delegation led by Xu Dunxin called on the Acting President, Mohammadmian Soomro, in the Parliament House on Wednesday.

The delegation is currently visiting Pakistan to attend the first meeting of Pak-China Friendship Forum.

Pak-China bilateral relations were discussed during the meeting.

Mr Soomro said friendship between Pakistan and China was based on complete trust and understanding. He said this friendship, which constituted the corner stone of Pakistan’s foreign policy, represented a model for peaceful cooperation and friendly relations between two sovereign nations.

He said Pak-China Friendship Forum was an important step in strengthening further ties between the two countries and promoting Pakistan-China Partnership.

Emphasising the need for increasing people-to-people interaction, head of the Chinese delegation said the Forum would also focus on the economic and cultural ties between the two countries.

He said the rapidly changing global issues and complications would not affect the friendship between Pakistan and China.

The secretary-general of Chinese chapter of Pakistan-China Friendship Forum, Lu Shulin, and the Chinese ambassador, Zhang Chun Ziang, were also present on the occasion.
